Imran Khan is notified by LHC to appear before it shortly

Date:

The PTI leader Imran Khan has also requested protective bail in nine cases from the LHC.

Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was ordered by the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday to appear before it by 5:30 p.m.

The terms of reference established by the PTI and the police were read aloud at the beginning of the hearing by Khan’s attorney, Ishtiaq Chaudhry.

Sen. Shibli Faraz will call the police to provide security for the PTI chief, he informed the court.

The agreement also specifies that PTI’s public gathering at the Minar-e-Pakistan will take place on Monday rather than Sunday. It has also been decided to submit a new request for the public gathering.

According to the agreement, the PTI will designate two individuals to help those involved in the March 14 and March 15 incidents.

But according to Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh, the agreement’s language needs to be revised.

“The word TOR is incorrect. Fix the language once more,” the judge said. He continued by saying that the court could not halt police from conducting inquiries.

Fawad Chaudhry, meanwhile, informed the court that they do not want to be the target of retaliation.

The court was then informed by Khan’s attorney that they had filed arguments in support of the PTI chief’s protective bail. The PTI leader is prepared to testify in court, he continued.

The attorney stated that Imran Khan was prepared to attend the court proceedings on March 18.

General Punjab, an advocate, argued before the court that the arrest warrant should be carried out.

At this point, Justice Sheikh questioned the attorney general about the PTI leader’s desire to appear in court and his objections to it.

According to the advocate general, the Islamabad court did not revoke the arrest warrant for the PTI leader.

The judge retaliated by saying that he never prevented the execution of the warrant.

LHC delays police action to arrest Imran Khan until 3 p.m.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) had earlier ordered both parties to resolve the conflict and report back to the court by 3 o’clock. This prevented the police from intervening in any way at Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence.

The LHC’s instructions were given as the petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry was being heard. The petition was against the police operation and the execution of the party leader’s arrest warrant, which was issued by an Islamabad court.

On Wednesday, Fawad filed a petition with the high court protesting the police action. The LHC stopped the operation outside PTI leader Imran Khan’s home during its previous hearing, and it is still stopping today.

In an effort to arrest Khan, who was ousted as prime minister last April, PTI workers and law enforcement engaged in a nearly 24-hour-long battle.

Police fired tear gas and party supporters resorted to throwing Molotov cocktails, injuring dozens of people, mostly police officers.

Following Khan’s resignation from office in a parliamentary vote at the beginning of last year, legal action was taken against him. Since then, he has led protests across the country calling for an early election. During one of these rallies, he was shot and injured.

The hearing today
The inspector-general of Punjab (IG), the advocate general, and Fawad appeared in court today as Tariq Saleem Sheikh continued the hearing.

Fawad praised Justice Saleem’s decision, saying, “You have saved the lives of the people of Lahore.”

He claimed that the police had promised to keep the PTI chief safe. We have postponed holding a public gathering in Lahore, but one will be held on Monday, he continued.

The public gathering should be postponed, Justice Saleem remarked.

The PTI leader declared that Imran Khan’s surety bonds had been submitted.

The judge stated that everyone must abide by the law and added that he would take further action against those who had broken the law. We have cameras in place, and I won’t stop taking action against those who act inappropriately, he declared.

The party has been told not to designate any area as a “no-go area,” according to IG Punjab.

Fawad was instructed by Justice Saleem to present an application to any jalsa. The court added that containers shouldn’t be placed anywhere in its ruling.

They require access to the Zaman Park region, according to the advocate general.

Fawad responded by saying they need access to the area in order to make the arrests. “After nominating people, arrest them,” he continued.

In the meantime, Khan’s attorney Khawaja Tariq Rahim promised the court that the PTI chief would show up.

When the police are attacked with rocks or Molotov cocktails, IG Punjab asked the court if they are permitted to leave. He asked to be let in.

“We grant them access,” Fawad retorted.

The court then ordered a solution to be brought.

The IG declared that they would not permit anyone to be the target of reprisals. He continued, “We have technology and witnesses, not just pictures.

Additionally, he assured the court that nothing bad would occur.

The court questioned the IG about how there would be transparency.

The IG then stated that all decisions would be based on merit. He declared, “We won’t request permission to make an arrest if we have evidence.

Imran Khan’s security should be requested, according to Justice Saleem.

The judge will also select the execution strategy for the warrant.

The hearing was postponed by the court until 3pm.

PTI chief requests bail in nine cases from LHC.

In nine cases, the PTI leader had applied to the high court for protective bail. Four of those cases are in Lahore, and five are in Islamabad.

Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh and Justice Farooq Haider made up a two-person bench that was formed to hear the bail requests made in relation to cases that were filed under the terrorism sections.

Justice Saleem will also hear the bail requests as a single bench in the interim.

The PTI chief will appear at the LHC after 2pm, according to sources who spoke to Geo News earlier. They added that prior to the PTI chief’s departure, the PTI employees had been asked to assemble at Zaman Park so they could travel with him.
