Ex-PM claims current leaders are doing everything they can to prevent elections.
Imran Khan, a former prime minister and the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), declared on Saturday that he would kick off his party’s election campaign on Sunday with a sizable public gathering in Lahore.
“I request that my party and my supporters get ready. Tomorrow, I will lead the Lahore election rally. I call on the people of Lahore to demonstrate in large numbers and let everyone know that you are not a people who will submit to oppression “He said this while speaking to his supporters from his Lahore home in Zaman Park.
Imran claimed that the ruling class was attempting to declare an emergency in order to avoid the upcoming general elections. “I am confident that they will take action to avoid the elections. They might fabricate a bombing or arrange for a murder. They’re attempting to murder me. They have a plan, which I have already disclosed to you “Added he.
“Why are they so eager to have me in court? Police are not present. There is no one to provide protection. They call us there because they want to kill us, and anyone can do it.”
The former prime minister alleged that he was called to court so that he could be killed or imprisoned.
Imran said that the judiciary has a big responsibility on its shoulders to protect the citizens’ fundamental rights and asked the Lahore High Court (LHC) to set up a judicial commission to investigate the murder of PTI employee Zille Shah.
“You have a lot of responsibility because there are unknown people around. It’s time for you to speak up. Your problem is the [murder of] Zille Shah. It is a matter of judicial torture “Added he.
According to Imran Khan, torture in detention is prohibited everywhere in the world, and Pakistan has ratified a treaty to that effect.
“I appeal to the judiciary, stating that you are the only thing stopping this nation from turning into a banana republic. The PDM government supports court rulings that only benefit them “said he.
The former prime minister also requested that the resignations of the Punjab CM, Punjab IG, and CCPO Lahore be accepted by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Imran expressed his regret for Shah’s murder and expressed how the incident had hurt him greatly.
“The passing of Zille Shah has deeply hurt all Pakistanis, including myself. He was a unique kid. His arm had previously been broken by them. He had not wronged anyone. He was tortured in custody by police. It’s unimaginable what they did to him for two to three hours. One of our team members discovered his body and transported it to Services Hospital “said he.
“My mind cannot accept that given the way he was tortured. That was done by a psychopath. His body bore 64 signs of torture. He was beaten and then cast onto the road. Such incidents damage Punjab Police’s reputation. These people view people as cattle rather than human beings.”
Imran Khan claimed that police initially claimed that Shah’s death was the result of a murder and that they are now saying it was an accident. He added that police have now detained those who were with Shah in the police van.
“They propagate lies and believe the people are gullible. Beasts are in charge in Pakistan. They are only concerned with hiding the murder “Added he.
Shah’s private organs were also tortured, according to Imran. Tell me what kind of accident damages these areas.
According to the former prime minister, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif personally warned officers to disregard orders from superiors, but when PTI leader Shahbaz Gill said the same thing, he was tortured.
Imran reacted angrily when PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif criticised the judiciary, saying that her comments showed what was wrong with the nation.
“Maryam is requesting that Nawaz be pardoned in all of his cases. The absence of the rule of law in Pakistan is our problem. She is giving commands to arrest people and to pardon others.”
Maryam, according to Imran, was disparaging the courts everywhere she went, but no notice of contempt of court was being sent to her.
Imran stated that the reports from Azam Swati and Gill also showed that unidentified individuals make the decision to torture or not to torture a person.
“Even though I am a former prime minister, I attempted to register a FIR on my own behalf but was unable to do so due to the unidentified individuals. What would occur with regular people, “He inquired.
The senior journalist Arshad Sharif was killed by those in power, and those same individuals also attempted to assassinate him, according to him. He questioned, “How will I get justice since they are in power.
“Every poor Pakistani citizen is experiencing what happened to Zille Shah. In this country, the powerful can accomplish anything. There are forces that can act in any way without being questioned.”
Imran claimed that the current authorities only fear elections because they are certain that PTI will win, and as a result, they want to remove him. He said of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, “A person who has been found guilty by courts is running the country, and his daughter is openly criticising courts.
“I’ve made up my mind to fight to the very last drop of my blood. For your own sake, you must stand by my side. This cannot be the way Pakistan is run “He continued.
