ISPR – Terrorist killed in North Waziristan IBO

Date:

According to ISPR, the assassinated terrorist was actively engaged in activities against security forces and the murder of innocent civilians.

RAWALPINDI: The military’s propaganda wing reported on Saturday that a terrorist was shot and killed in North Waziristan during an intelligence-based operation (IBO).

The operation was carried out in the district’s Mir Ali region, and when the security forces approached the terrorists, they reacted, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The result was a fierce battle between the military and the terrorists. The forces captured the terrorist and also recovered ammunition and weapons.

The military’s media wing continued, “The terrorists slain remained actively committed in terrorist activities against security forces and [the] murders of innocent persons.”

The change occurs as the nation struggles with an escalating insurgency, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an outlawed group, brokered a ceasefire with Islamabad in November.

The security forces are carrying out follow-up operations to kill militants, but in the previous five months, there has been an increase in terrorist assaults, which have also claimed the lives of numerous civilians.

After the Taliban took power, the TTP reportedly regrouped in Afghanistan. Pakistan demanded repeatedly that the government of its neighbouring nation make sure that its turf wasn’t being utilised for terrorism. However, the Taliban-led administration has fallen short of expectations.

According to Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, militant activity has been concentrated mostly in Balochistan and KP, with the former accounting for 31% of attacks over the past year and the latter 67%.

The National Security Committee (NSC) resolved that no country will be permitted to give shelters and facilitation to terrorists in reaction to the escalating number of terrorist acts, and Pakistan reserves all rights to protect its citizens.

The forum also reaffirmed its intention to fight any and all violent groups and repeated its commitment to having zero tolerance for terrorism in Pakistan.
