On Monday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan summoned the PTI chairman Imran Khan, demanding surrender in the Quetta lawyer murder case.
The hearing on lawyer Abdul Razzaq Shar’s murder case was conducted by a three-member SC bench led by Justice Yahya Khan Afridi.
PTI lawyer Latif Khosa asked the court to halt the proceedings in this case, claiming that the joint investigation team (JIT) created to investigate the murder case is illegal.
According to Justice Mazahar Naqvi, “surrendering before the court is more important.”
“You want to get rid of the entire FIR?” he added. According to the PTI chief’s lawyer, the FIR against him was filed based on rumours.
Justice Yahya Khan Afridi stated that contesting the matter relating to him in the FIR was a separate matter.
“You have challenged the entire FIR,” he said, “how can the FIR of murder be quashed?”
Following these remarks, the Supreme Court summoned the PTI chairman in his personal capacity on Monday at 10:30 a.m.
