Pakistan will import 450,000MT of wheat from Russia, with nine ships expected to transport it to gawadar.
QUETTA: The first of the nine ships carrying 50,000 metric tonnes of wheat from Russia to Pakistan arrived at the port of Gwadar, according to Pasand Khan Buledi, chairman of the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA).
According to Buledi, preparations had already been made under a contract between the Gwadar International Terminal Limited (GITL) and Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) to handle the import of wheat.
9 ships will transport the 450,000 metric tonnes of wheat that Pakistan will import. He announced that the first ship, the MV Leela Chennai, which was carrying 50,000 metric tonnes of wheat, had arrived at Gwadar port.
Buledi emphasised that the agreement to import such a sizable quantity of wheat was a notable development towards enhancing the Gwadar port’s inherent capacity as a logistics hub in the region.
